    It has recently diversified and its health-related undertaking has increased dramtically.  In 2014, the largest portion of Google Ventures’ investment was directed toward healthcare. From Google Glass to its cancer screening smart pill, Google Flu trends and its smart contact lenses meant to monitor blood glucose levels through tears. Google’s approach to healthcare is “anything is possible”.

    The global association of mobile operators (GSMA) represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting nearly 800 operators with more than 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and Internet companies, as well as organisations in adjacent industry sectors. The GSMA also produces industry-leading events such as Mobile World Congress, Mobile World Congress Shanghai and the Mobile 360 Series conferences.

    Health Care Social Media (Hcsm) is a social community that aims to educate, accelerate innovation, centralize big data for genomics research and improve access. There are many global hcsm communities worldwide including ones in the United Kingdom (UK), Europe (EU) and Ghana (GH).

    In the future, hcsmSA hopes to develop into a single, geographic, inter-connected social “network of networks” for South Africa. Health data online is fragmented because there are so many platforms , but with the proposed changes in web3,0 and the Internet of Things, holistic data could be possible which will be vital to research in precision medicine.

    The Health Data Collaborative is a joint effort by multiple global health partners to work alongside countries to improve the availability, quality and use of data for local decision-making and tracking progress toward the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

    The Health Data Collaborative is an inclusive partnership of international agencies, governments, philanthropies, donors and academics, with the common aim of improving health data. Countries are at the core of what we do, supported by donors, academics, UN agencies and civil society organizations. 

    The Health Data Collaborative is not a formal partnership. We operate with a light, nimble governance structure, based on a shared vision that by working together to strengthen country information systems, we can contribute meaningfully to better decision-making and better health. 

    Nor is the Health Data Collaborative a fund. It is not directly responsible for financing health information systems, but for bringing countries, donors and other partners together to make sure investments are made in the most efficient and effective way.

    HealthEnabled is a non-profit organisation based in South Africa. They aim to engage national and global partners to refine policies, ensure programmes are sustainable, and support the effective use of technologies for health.

    HealthEnabled strives to address the emerging misalignment between digital health policies, programs, and user needs by helping countries make informed policy decisions, design programmes for scale and sustainability, and adopt evidence-based public goods and practices that will lead to the effective use of digital health tools.
